Week 6: New Names :)

This 'week' I have re-named the project, and updated the main character So been a while since I last updated, but here we are! If you haven't seen, Azazel has been renamed to June. I felt I wanted a new name for her as Azazel was the og name I came up with in uni, and I thought it was ok, but could be better. I also renamed the whole project to 'Disaster June'. I thought this was a cool name for a number of reasons: 1. June being a 'disaster' or other terrible force is accurate, as she has uncontrolled magic (and rage)

2. It plays off 'Calamity Jane' - an American frontierswoman and sharpshooter, super interesting person! 3. It also kinda suggests the events of the game take place in one, long, horrible month.

I've also re-designed June, as it was a long time coming, and there were some things to work on. Although the design remained similar in a few ways, the fresh look is more dynamic, and gave me a chance to work on my character design & concepting skills. I've also begun to re-work the 3D model, but as I've been very busy (with freelance work yay!) lately, this has fallen to the way side.

I'm not too far off finishing, just needing to texture properly. I've done a lot of work on the bones and had a play around with cloth sims and colliders in blender, as I wanted more movement in the tassels. I decided that it wasn't looking right (I'm sure that there was more I could do to get it working) so I opted to add in bones which I could manipulate around instead.


New logo for the name too, I really like the pixel art style - looks like old RPGs, so I'm happy with the outcome.
